suede-purseSuede is soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye, so it’s no wonder that the material is often used in manufacturing high-quality purses and pocketbooks. Once a suede purse has seen its share of use, it becomes dirty. You’ll need to employ some specialized techniques to clean the material without doing damage. Begin by restoring its nap with a dry towel.

Surprisingly, you can eliminate many of the smaller, less noticeable stains by rubbing the material with a standard pencil eraser. Beyond that, you should seek professional help to eliminate large stains. Never apply surface cleaners or detergents without fully understanding what effect they’ll have on the leather. It’s always best to seek an experienced opinion before doing irreparable damage to a favorite purse.
