110824-663The hobo bag is a style of handbag or purse that is typically large and characterized by a crescent shape, a slouchy posture and a long strap designed to wear over the shoulder. Hobo bags are made out of soft, flexible materials and tend to slump, or slouch, when set down. There are many different sizes and shapes of this popular woman’s fashion accessory.

This style of purse is called a hobo bag because it resembles the shape of the bindle on a stick that hobos are portrayed as carrying over their shoulder in drawings and cartoons.

Where did the peace sign originate?

na7It was designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom, a professional designer and artist and a graduate of the Royal College of Arts.

Gerald Holtom, a conscientious objector who had worked on a farm in Norfolk during the Second World War, explained that the symbol incorporated the semaphore letters N(uclear) and D(isarmament).

It is a symbol that stands for the death of man
and the unborn child and that symbol was designed
from the naval code of semaphore – the code letters
for N and D (nuclear disarmament).
N is two flags, arms downstretched at a forty-five degree
angle, and D is two flags, one arm straight up and one
straight down. It is said, that the reason for the symbol being upside
down (D over N) is that semaphore is a military code and
upside down symbolizes anti-military
I just add alot of shoulderbags with the peace sign on them. The New Year is coming up So let it be peace in the WORLD HAPPY NEW YEARS

What Is Your Bag Saying About You?

456676_734715_image_option_0Have you ever wondered what you’re saying about yourself with your choice of handbag? Or are you wondering what kind of bag best fits your personality?

Either way, it’s really interesting to see what kind of signals you’re giving off about yourself with your bag, and it might help you make a decision about which style will be the best investment for you, especially if you’re saving up for a designer bag!

Starting with shoulder bags, we’ll talk bag by bag about what your current bags are saying and what bag can convey exactly what you want people to notice about you.

So let’s get to it… Shoulder bags may be the most versatile of any bags. They can go from work to evening, from weekday to weekend. When you find a classic, you’ll see that it can be appropriate for almost any occasion.

A woman who chooses a shoulder bag always seeks to be dressed appropriately, no matter what the situation, so she chooses a shoulder bag that allows her to be ready at a moment’s notice for whatever comes up in her life. She’ll never be a fashion victim because the shoulder bag allows her to be well-coordinated at all times

Practicality reigns when you choose a shoulder bag so if you aren’t someone who likes to change their bag often, a shoulder bag may be the best choice for you. They are generally a medium size and will fit all of your necessities so you never have to worry about being without that one thing you might need that won’t fit in your clutch or about digging through a larger tote when you have too much inside. It’s the most versatile type of bag, at least in my opinion, and I believe it’s the best place to start when you’re searching for an investment piece in a designer bag.

401316_665209_image_option_0The most difficult part of giving a new purse for a gift is making the purchase decision based on what you think the receiver will like, and not buying something just because you would like it for yourself. Here’s some information to use whenever selecting a purse as a gift. First, visualize the woman in her everyday clothing. Is she a jeans and T-shirt person? Does she wear a suit to work everyday? Does she dress conservatively or funky? If you can, look inside her closet. What are her favorite colors? What style shoe does she wear? What style of purse does she carry now? Is it a shoulder bag, a satchel, a tote or a backpack?

How to Buy a Shoulder Bag

Determine how much money you wish to spend on a shoulder bag. You can spend as little as $10 up to several hundred dollars. Some shoulder bags, made of very expensive materials by elite designers, can even cost thousands of dollars. Set your budget first to make your shopping easier.

  • Step 2

Choose a color, material and overall design for your shoulder bag. Select a bag in a color that matches or compliments your wardrobe, as well as a material that works for you. You may choose to purchase a shoulder bag in leather, suede, microfiber, cotton or canvas. In addition, pick a bag that fits in well with your overall style.

  • Step 3

Think about the size of bag that you would like to have. You need to make sure that your shoulder bag will hold all of the items that you need to carry. However, you don’t want your shoulder bag to be too large, overpowering for your body or too heavy to carry comfortably.

  • Step 4

Examine the shoulder bag’s workmanship. Check the zipper or closure to make sure that it operates properly. Look for durable and neat stitching on the bag. Also, examine the lining of the shoulder bag to check for high-quality materials, such as silk. Finally, make sure that the shoulder straps attach firmly to the body of the bag.

  • Step 5

Consider strap length and strap style. Choose a shoulder bag that falls comfortably along your body when you put the straps over your shoulder. Many shoulder bags have straps with buckles or other adjusters, which allow you to change the strap length to best suit you. Also, consider if you wish to purchase a shoulder bag with one or two shoulder straps.

  • Step 6

Try on the shoulder bag and see if it’s easy and convenient to use. If you have to struggle to open the bag, it won’t be handy when you need something out of your bag in a hurry.

The shoulder handbag is perhaps the most common type of ladies handbag because they are comfortable to wear; a lot of designers craft this kind of handbag. They can be any bag that’s large enough to be worn over the shoulder, round the waist or across the chest. The shoulder straps can either be long or short depending on the lady prefers. Many however have adjustable straps. They are usually big and allow you the use of your hand.

    CLASSIC HANDBAG
This simple style is what I call the classic mini-all purpose handbag. It can be your companion right from work, to a corporate meeting and of to lunch without you feeling under or over dressed. These purses are usually medium-sized and can conveniently hold your wallet, phones, mini notepad for writers, pen and just a little make up to touch up in between events. Its gives a ladylike looks and is a perfect match with your slim skirt, dress or nice pants. The straps are usually at a length to be carried by hand as opposed to swung over the shoulder. You usually have to carry then by hand because of the length of their straps although some in addition to the hand strap comes with a long shoulder strap.

Why Would Someone Pick a Laptop Shoulder Bag Over a Laptop Sleeve?

3674392_4022054_image_option_0When choosing the proper carrying case for your laptop there are things to consider. How thick is it? Will it protect my machine properly? Does it have a shoulder strap? This later question can actually prove quite helpful later on in your laptops life. You also have to make sure you pick one with enough space to store items.

When you first buy your laptop it will have nothing with it but what you ordered. However as we progress through life with our machines we buy add ons and plug ins for them. These take up space and they need to be put somewhere when we move the laptop. So we buy a laptop sleeve with pockets, or a laptop carrying case. Although once you have all of your items, and the laptop itself in the case it can be a bit heavy.

This is where the laptop shoulder bag tends to have advantages. Instead of lugging your machine around just simply slip it over your shoulder and keep your hands free. This allows you to carry more weight, move better, and be able to handle yourself better while navigating your office. This also has an added security benefit that many people do not think about.

A laptop shoulder bag is harder to steal as you are attached to it. Someone may grab it but they will quickly realize that it’s not coming without the body it’s attached to. This can often deter a would be laptop snatcher from getting your machine and make him run away for fear of being caught. After all if a thief can’t take something quickly they risk drawing attention to themselves from coworkers, friends, and police.

Thief deterrents aside a laptop shoulder bag is simply more economical, and space saving. You don’t have to buy a separate bag either if you don’t want to. Most regular laptop carrying cases have hooks that you can attach to a shoulder strap. Thereby prolonging the life of the case, and saving you the money that you would have had to spend on an entirely new carrying bag.

Although if you want to buy the new bag that’s your decision. You can find them in all the different styles, materials, shapes, and colors that you can find regular laptop bags, and sleeves in. The main difference between a sleeve and a carrying case or bag is mainly in capacity and padding. A sleeve is just meant for easy transport of the laptop, its equipment, and a few extras.

A good laptop bag has room for that and much more. You can also fit books, additional batteries, accessories, and discs in a large laptop carrying case and still have room for more. In addition the material is a lot thicker thereby protecting the machine from bumps and jolts. This prevents damage to the case, and the insides of the unit itself.

In closing whatever you decide to use to carry your machine in know that you have choices. Simple sleeves are good for just moving around but not much else. Standard laptop cases offer much more room, capacity, and protection for your machine but are more expensive. Shoulder laptop bags offer the best mobility and cost more.
