Ballpoint ink on a leather purse 
is not uncommon. All too often, pens are thrown into purses without the caps or with the ink tip exposed. This can cause the ink to penetrate the leather pocketbook. Removing ink from a leather pocketbook is possible and is most successful when the ink stain is treated immediately.
